Frequencies use 12-tone equal temperament. String order runs from the 4th string nearest your face to the 1st nearest the floor in playing position; that physical order is not always low to high in a re-entrant tuning.

Standard soprano, concert, and tenor ukuleles normally use a high G4, so the first displayed string is not the lowest pitch. Low G replaces only that string with G3 at 196.00 Hz, one octave lower; C4, E4, and A4 stay unchanged.
Baritone ukulele is a separate D3–G3–B3–E4 system, usually with pitches rising linearly from the 4th string to the 1st. Select baritone in the calculator instead of trying to interpret its DGBE note names as standard GCEA.
How the calculation works
For MIDI note number n, frequency equals A4 × 2(n − 69) / 12. Standard high-G strings use MIDI numbers 67, 60, 64, and 69 in physical string order. The same formula moves every target together when the A4 reference changes.
When to change A4
Leave A4 at 440 Hz for ordinary practice. Change it only when a fixed-pitch instrument, ensemble, or recording uses another reference. All four targets should move together; an alternate A4 reference is not the same as choosing Low G, baritone, or D tuning.
